Concepts

  1. Materials from plants and animals can be recycled in a compost bin and turned into rich soil for the garden.
  2. By their life processes, living things are responsible for the recycling of matter.
  3. We can identify many of the things living in a compost bin and a worm-bin.
  4. A compost bin at school or home is easy to create and maintain.

Program Objectives

  1. Describe the make-up of compost and its uses.
  2. Identify the living creatures and their roles in composting.
  3. Learn how to create a compost bin and a worm-bin for home or school.
  4. OPTIONAL : Students can make a worm-bin for their classroom.  Please ask at booking if you would like this included in the program.
