Education & Outreach

Measuring the garden

If you are looking for an educational and outdoor field trip for your students, visit Texas Discovery Gardens at Fair Park. We are a public, organic garden in the heart of Dallas and are located within easy walking distance of many Fair Park museums, especially the Children's Aquarium. Texas Discovery Gardens first began environmental education programs for school children in Dallas in 1968. We continuously strive for excellence, update our programs regularly, and can work with you to modify our program content to best match your curriculum needs.

Terrarium Worlds

Texas Discovery Gardens offers fun, hands-on environmental education programs for children. We have outdoor learning opportunities for students PreK through 8th grade.

Our affordable educational programs include a tour of our organic gardens that highlights key science, math, language arts, and social studies concepts. We offer a combination package to include both an educational program and a tour of The Rosine Smith Sammons Butterfly House and Insectarium. Many programs include a take-home teaching tool for the class or individual participants.
