Butterfly House Docent

Introduce children and adults to the unique interactions between plants and butterflies. Teach our visitors about this beautiful creature's amazing lifecycle. And ensure the safety of our butterflies by showing our visitors the proper way to view butterflies and moths.

Training will take place prior to the Fair

Garden Docent

Help our visitors see the life that teems in our diverse Gardens and ponds. Answer visitors' questions about the natural world, point out interesting Garden sights, assist with daily butterfly tagging and Garden Walks, and receive free Fair admission and parking for the 3 or more shifts you volunteer with us.

Greet our Garden visitors, direct them towards Garden activities, and keep track of the volume of visitors during your shift.

Skies of Butterflies
Daily: You and your family can submerge yourself in native butterflies in our seasonal butterfly house. Admission is $3 per visitor.

Monarch Taggings
Daily: Learn about the amazing Monarch butterfly migration story and how scientists developed a way to tag monarchs to better track their migration patterns. Butterfly release after the demonstration. Perfect activity for the entire family.

Master Gardener and Master Naturalist presentations
Weekends: Learn how to better take care of your garden the organic way, what those insects are doing in your backyard, and how to reduce garden maintenance and watering.

Guided Garden Walks
Daily: Tour our various gardens, ponds, and meadow while learning about the life that teems in our Gardens.
