Let's Go Outside! Summer Programming
Texas Discovery Gardens provides a safe, natural place for children to learn about the life that teems in a garden. The following programs are perfect for day school groups, church groups, homeschoolers, family groups, neighborhood play groups, or any other type of group with children. All programs last about an hour and can be scheduled for weekdays from 10am-4pm.
EarthKeepers Programs
Seeds, seeds, and more seeds
Fun introduction to gardening and seeds for younger children - all participants begin their own garden to take back to school or home.
Butterflies, Bugs, and Botany
Explore the amazing lives of the tiny creatures that make our Gardens their home.
Bubble Fest
Learn one way to have fun outdoors by creating and measuring bubbles of all shapes and sizes - we'll use everyday objects found at home to make our bubbles.
Math in Nature
Compare temperatures, measure garden beds, and observe insects and animals just like scientists and gardeners.
Terrarium Worlds
Go on a habitat hunt through the Gardens, then create a home for a plant - watch the water cycle occur within your new world.
Life in the Compost Bin
Observe (up close!) the creatures that create our soils - the group will also make its own compost-in-a-bag to take back home.
Careers in the Garden
Learn about what types of work needs to be done at a garden - design your own garden.
