Come see us at the annual City of Dallas Environmental Education Initiative (EEI) community fair, Conservation in Action. The fair will feature water conservation, recycling and environmental education activities and exhibits at Texas Discovery Gardens. Creating a Beautiful Easy Care EarthKind™ Landscape Workshop

In advance: $20 for members, $25 for non-members; $30 at the door
Dr. Steve George will lead a workshop on proper care for EarthKind™ roses. Learn how to manage your landscape in harmony with Mother Nature by following the research-based principals of TX A&M extension’s exciting EarthKind™ system. We will cover EarthKind™ environmental soil management (including expanded shale and living mulches), new EarthKind™ fertilizers for turf, EarthKind™ irrigation techniques, and how to select the best landscape plants, including the newest beautiful easy-care EarthKind™ roses. This class will feature a tour of an actual EarthKind™ rose demonstration garden in Fair Park. To register, call (214) 428-7476 ext. 23 or visit our Web site.
Organic in the City
First Tuesdays (March – September) 6-8pm
$10, $8 for members, unless otherwise noted
Enjoy a summer evening in the Gardens with music, guided tours and presentations on organic and environmental topics. We’ll provide drinks and hors d’oeuvres. Don’t miss this opportunity to rediscover the Gardens and learn how to simplify your life with an organic lifestyle! *The cost is $15, $13 for members for the March 4 and Aug. 5 programs due to extra activities.

Hours
Texas Discovery Gardens is open 10am to 5pm Monday - Saturday.
Closed Sundays, for inclement weather, New Year's Day, Martin Luther King, Jr. Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving, the Friday after Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, and Christmas Day.

Location: Texas Discovery Gardens is located at 3601 Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd. in Fair Park. Fair Park is two miles east of downtown Dallas just south of Interstate 30.
Temporary entrance: The main building is currently being renovated. To enter the gardens during the transition, please use the gate on the north side of the garden across from the Planetarium. To meet with a staff member, please enter the Gardens and then follow the signs to the Administrative Offices in the white house. Administration office hours are 9am to 5pm Monday - Saturday.
Where to park: Enter Fair Park at gate # 6 (the intersection of Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd. & Robert B. Cullum Blvd). Just inside the gate, turn right on Second Ave. which will then curve left and become Pennsylvania Ave. Enter the parking lot on your left. The temporary entrance to the gardens is located directly across from the Planetarium.

From North Dallas, Richardson, Plano & other cities north of Dallas: take US 75 South, exit onto I-30 East, then take exit 47 (Second Avenue/Fair Park), curve to the right and turn left at the second light which is Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd. Enter Gate #6 and park in the lot next to the Smirnoff Music Center.
From West Dallas, Arlington, Fort Worth and other cities west of Dallas: take I-30 East, then take exit 47 (Second Avenue/Fair Park), curve to the right and turn left at the second light which is Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd. Enter Gate #6 and park in the lot next to the Smirnoff Music Center.
From East Dallas, Mesquite, Rockwall and other cities east of Dallas: take I-30 West, then take exit 47C (First Avenue/Fair Park), turn right at Exposition Avenue and turn right on Parry Avenue. Parry becomes Robert B. Cullum Ave. Turn left at the fourth light which is Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd. Enter Gate #6 and park in the lot next to the Smirnoff Music Center.
From South Dallas, Ferris, Ennis and other cities south of Dallas: take I-45 North, exit onto I-30 East, then take exit 47 (Second Avenue/Fair Park), curve to the right and turn left at the second light which is Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd. Enter Gate #6 and park in the lot next to the Smirnoff Music Center.
